Roadblock: I can stay committed to eating well if….I just don’t have to grocery shop. Inspite of the fact that this can be one of the most motivating behaviors you can do for yourself (who hasn’t felt proud to see all their veggies floating down the the checkout belt, and looked with self-righteous scorn at everybody else’s carts full of junk?). I have seen many the once enthusiastic dieter derail primarily from a hatred of grocery shopping, however it is still possible to be successful while working around this one.
Safe detour: Kim does all her shopping on PeaPod – which has also saved her from many impulse buys from the items on the aisle “end caps”. Hal buys foods already prepared from places like Whole Foods, or already cooked from local catering stores. Peter buys all packaged foods. There are lots of healthy alternatives now if you don’t minding spending the money. It is cheaper than paying a counselor, certainly.
