Roadblock: I can stay committed to eating well if…I do it perfectly. Anything short of perfection and I am out of here. Easy trap to fall into, and guaranteed to set you up with permission to derail eventually. It’s like dropping out of high school entirely because I failed a history test.
Safe detour: Acknowledge that insisting on perfection is just permission to fail. Calorie knowledge is one tool that can help because is forgiving. It doesn’t demand perfection, only eventual accountability.
