Intellectual Basics – I have to figure out what my goals are. There are the straightforward goals like basic health, having energy and focus, getting rid of cravings, being a particular weight or size, dealing with a particular health risk like blood sugar or blood pressure, looking better, feeling better. But then there are the heart-wrenchers like, playing with my grandchildren, setting an example for someone, being able to put on just one outfit, not being preoccupied with food rather than the people in social situations. How about just not hating or being unbearably disappointed in myself?
John puts pictures of his grandkids on the refrigerator. Judy has this magazine cut out of this amazing red dress with a cut out drop back. Mary has shots of herself when she was at her goal weight playing touch football with her sons one Thanksgiving. Barry posts his before and after blood work on his work bulletin board.
