The devil made me do it…my husband only likes his chicken fried.  Case in point:  Let’s call them Claire and Lou.  Somewhere along the line that marriage was brand new – with no cooking history, a blank page to be written.  Now, with heart disease close on his tail, Lou has come to look forward to and expect all southern fried versions of virtually everything, and Claire feels that she will disappoint him if she doesn’t cook this way..to her weight detriment and his health detriment.

I was asked by 201Bride.com to write up a pre-wedding weight lossplan a couple of years ago – which of course, I happily wrote.  But I pitched an idea to them at the time (that they didn’t go for) that I thought would be far more valuable:  to write an article on how to use the first year of marriage for creating and cementing good habits as a couple and for the future kids.  How many people do you know who get thin for their wedding only to pack on the pounds beginning with their honeymoon?  All these family traditions had to start somewhere.
