Records help me decide if something is worth it to me. Rather than addressing my food choices from the perspective of some diet program or some nutritionist is “allowing” me to eat a food, I get to decide if it is worth committing X percent of my budget to. This is my decision, not a decision foisted upon me by an outside force. That is a very different conversation. Nothing to be defiant about. Nothing to “go off” of. It is my budget. And it is working all the time, whether I am working it or not.
It’s like when you have a job where no one else does your work if you call out sick. If all that work is just going to pile up and wait for you and make your life miserable to catch it up, you may as well just go in and do it.
