July 4
“I don’t care” usually happens at the end of a long chain of stimulus – often in the face of the food stimulus itself; too late to stop the train.
Another case in point: Another client could trace a bread binge back to about a week before at a craft fair when her husband, having tried a bunch of dips and oils he liked at the Ramsey Farmer’s Market, asked her go to the bread kiosk and purchase a couple of different loaves of really appealing, interesting breads. Even hearing the story was stimulating! The crash and burn didn’t happen till about a week later mind you, but was really a foregone conclusion once she spent enough time at the bread stand. She ultimately brought home three delicious sounding loaves. Here is what I know for me: if I bring home three loaves, I am eating three loaves..only that is not exactly what I tell myself at the time of purchase.
