Your friends give you food because you have taught them that you want them too. They are not bringing it (or cooking it for you) because they don’t love you, want you to die prematurely or because they think you don’t like it. They believe that you want them to do this. If you don’t want them to, you need to tell them – in advance and out of context, of course. Wouldn’t you do this if it were for someone else, like if your child or spouse had become a vegetarian, was strictly Kosher or been diagnosed with a food allergy?
