I can feel it in my bones when there is junk food on the premises.  At my sister’s, for example, I would ask if she minded if I had one of the Drakes Coffee Cake Juniors in her pantry.  She would say, “Oh, I have Drakes Coffee Cake Jr.’s in my pantry?”  I would say, “Yes, actually you have four.  And an open box of Ritz, with about a 1/4 of a box left, and…”  That’s how I am and possibly will always be I guess.  What I can do, and eventually learned to do at her house, was to not look in her pantry first thing.

Case in point:  My sister used to keep a see-through glass cookie jar on the counter in the kitchen.  No matter what crappy cookie was in that jar, I would eventually eat it.  One night I had an about 1100 calorie binge at about 11:30 pm after everyone was in bed on these stale low fat fudge stripe cookies in that dang clear glass cookie jar.  They are fairly disgusting even when they are fresh.  The chocolate won’t even melt in your mouth.  It is like ittle pieces of brown crayon.  In a million years I would never buy them.  But they were there, I was tired, and I had seen them out of the corner of my eyes for several days…need I say more?
