I have also found that when I am really “good”, that begets being even better. I sort of hate to ruin the good roll I am already on. When I am my on-track self for a few days, I actually become more discriminating about in what I invest my meager budget. Unfortunately, I have also found this to be true in the other direction. Like a snowball rolling down a hill, gathering momentum, one wrong turn early in the day, week, season (like buying my favorite Halloween candy, keeping what’s left, baking too soon or at all, etc.) can be the catalyst for a downhill slide that can last for the whole season. It is entirely my job to figure out what triggers me in either direction. Who else but me could know that about myself?
