One of the ways I called my bluff on the “I don’t have time” thing was to actually time certain things. I kept hearing myself justify making instant oatmeal rather than eggs for breakfast because of the time thing. While oatmeal is a healthy food, it doean’t fill me up at all for breakfast and, for me, is just another way for me to justify starting my day wth something sweet. I know from long experience that eggs or any chewable protein based meal (as opposed to something like yogurt) works much better for me. So, I decided to time it one day. Making eggs took exactly the same time as making the oatmeal did – about 7 minutes start to finish. BTW it only takes 27 seconds to floss my teeth. I have never missed a night of flossing once I timed it.
