You just never know where one new step will lead. Through one of my former clients, I started hiking with the WWW hikers at the Weis Ecology Center in Ringwood and ended up doing cross-country skiing and other activities through the people I met there. A current teacher client initially broke the inactivity ice with a walking regime near her home. This week, intending to beef up her program a bit and expand her exercise horizons while she is off for the summer, she is meeting a friend for lunch and a walk first at the new High Line Park in NYC instead of just for the food part.
Case in point: One of my clients, whose personal story you will be seeing in my other blog, got so inspired by her weight loss and the resistance training program she began as a result, that she became a personal trainer herself and has been able to really inspire her clients with her own story of personal struggle and success. And she has not only all but fixed her sluggish metabolism, but also really cemented in her own weight loss to boot.
