If I plan and prepare a lunch in the morning just like I do on my workdays, I will usually eat it – especially if I put it in the containers I use for taking my lunch to work.  I know that it seems ridiculous, but it does work for me.  One of my clients keeps the pre-portioned plastic microwave safe plates she gets from Weight Watchers frozen meals and continues to serve her own dinners in them.

When visiting my sister, I usually deliberately keep protein and veggies from dinner the night before to save for my breakfast.   In fact, when we get the fresh fish we often get from the Madison Farmers Market on Friday afternoons, I buy extra with that in mind.  My sister and her husband fortunately are reasonable people about food, so I don’t have to worry that (unlike me) they will eat all the “extra” fish at dinner just because it is there!  I expect that a good part of the reason that this works for me is not that I love fish for breakfast, but because I have acted well in advance upon the intention to eat well for breakfast the next day.  I have set my intention in motion.
