If I don’t spend all the calories I had banked for vacation, I don’t forfeit them. It is like getting traveler’s checks. They are still good after the trip is over. This helps me to not overeat on things that I can get better versions of here in NJ – like pizza or bagels or good Italian food. Case in point: The desserts suck on cruises. I don’t know if they don’t use salt or what it is, but they look great and typically taste like nothing. All the ice cream is beige. Oh, they call it different names like butter pecan or toffee, or cappuccino, but I swear it is really all the same ice cream. Anyway, can I tell you how much I have eaten of those things anyway as if all my saved calories would get cancelled out if I didn’t eat them then and there?
