What really makes any plan work is my willingness to do what I need to do to make it convenient, easy, and eventually habitual. There are always clear action steps involved in any successful plan. If I identify exactly what they are (like grocery shopping, meal planning and advance prep), I can learn to do them whether I am psyched or not. Going grocery shopping has nothing to do with exercising willpower. It is a simple errand. I never ran out of cigarettes and figured I pick them up tomorrow or next week…ever! I can even order groceries online if getting to the store seems to hard to do on a particular week.
