I have learned to do “skinny days” every week no matter what, so I am always budgeted for the weekend treats I intend to have. These are days in which I eat lots of volume of healthy food but calorically slightly less than what it takes to maintain my weight – the operative work being slightly. BTW, I have never seen anyone do this and end up with all these accumulated calories saved that they couldn’t figure out what to do with!
Besides Skinny Days are remarkably motivating. If you do them at the beginning of each week and get them over with, you get a running start into the week. Skinny Days are also a great tool to get me mentally, biochemically and calorically back on track if I derail. Naturally thin people do this automatically. For me it’s got to be deliberate.
