I still always have the option of working around a roadblock by capitalizing on other things that I am good at. For example, for Melvin, portion control is an issue, but he is willing to eat a lot of vegetables. Chuck can’t seem to live without a certain amount of alcohol calories, but he at least can usually exercise them back off. Some weeks he would have needed to walk to Omaha mind you….
My job is to determine which ones I sort of have to change and which ones I can work around – and exactly how. It doesn’t matter if I can rationalize or excuse them. If they get in the way of me accomplishing my own goals, then I have to find a fix.
